Neuro -
The mind and how
we think. The fundamental
idea that all behaviour
is the result of
the information
we receive from
our 5 senses.
Linguistic -
How we use language
to order our thoughts
and communicate.
Programming -The
way we use the
above to create
our behaviour.
John Grinder and
Richard Bandler
created NLP in
the 1970's by studying
the best communicators
and by modelling
exceptional people
in their field
so that it could
be duplicated.
As a result of
this, a large number
of techniques have
been developed
which can be used
to improve people's
lives, and the
lives of those
around them.
NLP brings about
self development
and change. All
change takes place
at the unconscious
level first, and
then we become
aware of it. The
unconscious is
everything that
is not our conscious.
The unconscious
contains your different
thoughts, feelings,
emotions, possibilities
and resources that
you are not paying
attention to. When
you switch your
attention, they
become conscious.
Everyone has all
the resources they
need to change,
however, people
often think they
do not have the
resources because
they are not conscious
of them. Through
hypnotherapy and
trance, these unconscious
resources can be
utilized. NLP provides
the tools to understand
these processes
and develop the
individual's ability
to adapt whatever
they do that does
not bring them
the results they
want, into processes
that do.
The mind/body
connection
The mind and body
form a system that
interact with each
other and influence
one another. It
is not possible
to make a change
in one without
affecting the other.
When we change
our way of thinking
our bodies change,
when we act differently,
we change our thoughts
and feelings. If
you have negative
thoughts and feelings,
these can put untold
stress on the body's
immune system which
in turn can cause
illness and disease.
Releasing these
negative thought
patterns and replacing
them with positive
ones, creates the
conditions necessary
to re-build health.
On its own NLP
can provide a potent
means for personal
change. Incorporated
within Cognitive
Hypnotherapy it
provides a cutting
edge approach to
modern therapy
that can provide
positive change
quickly and permanently.
